Walter’s (he/him) life purpose is to create a world in which youth have the power, resources, mentorship, and opportunities to be the leaders of their destiny. He co-founded Bridgemakers at 17 after interning for the Minneapolis Foundation and co-leading a youth advocacy coalition called Twin Cities Changemakers in high school.
As a first-generation, valedictorian, high school graduate, Walter has experienced significant adversity. He channeled his anger and pain into purpose and action. He went from working three jobs to support himself and his family to keynoting conferences across the country and leading social change in the Twin Cities.
At Bridgemakers, Walter is responsible for the organization’s strategic vision, collaborating with the board of directors and admin team, raising funds, and managing relationships with stakeholders.
