Lincoln Bacal
Lincoln is a Minneapolis-based organizer and community leader who believes all young people deserve joy and prosperity. As a founding member, she helped lead the Bridgemakers team from meetings as a volunteer coalition to a fully funded, full-time team working to bring purpose, prosperity, and power to Minnesota youth through systems transformation.
Outside of Bridgemakers, Lincoln serves in a leadership role on the Youthprise Board of Directors, runs a consulting business helping individuals and organizations strategically build power in their communities through community organizing tactics, and co-chairs the Minnesota Opportunity Youth Network. Lincoln began organizing at 14, inspired by a series of disempowering experiences at both conventional and nonconventional schools. Before graduating high school, Lincoln co-led a bipartisan legislative campaign that changed a discriminatory state law and granted high school students $35 million in pandemic aid, and worked on other campaigns oriented around climate justice and students’ rights.
